FC Tacoma 253 focusing on it’s WPSL soccer team and the 2015 roster, made up of American and Italian players.

In spite of a rough patch that Italian women’s soccer is facing, due to a derogatory comment from high up, which resulted in the women’s team not playing the final game of the Coppa Italia, as a sign of protest, Italian players still dream.

Thanks to OSA Soccer Group’s Italian-American influenced club, FC Tacoma 253, player’s dreams are still able to become reality.
The club’s mission is to bridge Italian and American soccer, allowing players the opportunity to play and learn from each other as a way to develop – an international experience that changes a player on and off the field. Initially OSA only brought Italians to the US, but the company quickly began working to give American players the same type opportunity in Italy.

OSA’s first player to go to Italy was Courtney Moore, born in San Francisco, CA, she has just ended her first season in the Italian Serie A (the Italian women’s soccer top league!) with Pink Sport Bari Club. How did it happen?

In the summer of 2014, Courtney played for AC Seattle where she met Italian player Carmela Anaclerio. They became friends and dreamed about meeting on the soccer field in Italy. With some help from OSA that dream came true! Now FC Tacoma 253 is looking forward to Courtney’s return to the club, to see her newly acquired skills and hear more about her experience.
Another international success story is the one of Camille Levine, a Sky Blue FC player who wanted to play soccer in Italy and connect with her family’s Italian origins. OSA’s partner, ACF Fiorentina, one of the most important Clubs in the Italian Serie A, accepted her and Camille went to Florence and played for their women’s team, which has been an extraordinary opportunity for her.

OSA Soccer Group has been working in the soccer business for almost 10 years under the direction of Giuseppe Pezzano, and the company’s mission to bridge Italian and American men’s and women’s soccer will continue to allow player’s dreams to come true.

FCT 253 will play it’s first WPSL games in a doubleheader weekend. Be ready for kick offs on May 30th, at 5pm and May 31st, at 1pm, both in the stadium at Starfire Sports.
