After the loss in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game, it’s time for FC Tacoma 253 to turn over a new leaf. On Wednesday night the Kitsap Pumas won 5-2 over FC Tacoma 253, proving to be a more experienced and cohesive team.

“I am proud of our guys”, says the Club’s President Mr. Pezzano. “They never gave up even though it was a tough game from the beginning. The Pumas have more experience, as they have been playing in this competition for several years, and they proved it on the field.  I congratulate with them and I wish them good luck going forward.” Mr. Pezzano went on to note that “It was also a real pleasure to see the number of Tacoma based fans that came out to support the team, it was very encouraging and made for a great environment at the stadium!”

Now FCT 253 has to refocus and prepare for the upcoming NPSL games. This weekend are double header games, FCT 253 will face the Sonoma Sol on Saturday, and the Sacramento Gold on Sunday.
FC Tacoma 253 lost both the previous games (2-1 against the Sol and 3-1 against the Sacramento Gold) to these two clubs that are currently leading the Golden Gate Conference.

“Now we have to refocus on the NPSL”, Mr. Pezzano continues. “We had to face a hard moment having lost many points in the past games. Our team is young and inexperienced, but they showed everyone what they are capable of, by qualifying for the US Open Cup. The next games are going to be tough, but the team can do it.”
